Saturday night fever

Saturday night was dedicated to the immortals.
First Robert and I went to see the old silent movie "Nosferatu" - accompanied live by Kitchen Orchestra (free jazz impro. Quite loud, but good anyway). They had announced half price for vampires, and I could not resist that. Had to dress up!
Afterwards, we went to a place called Sting. It's an art cafe/pub. There Tor was celebrating his 50th birthday, and so what would be better than get two vampires dropping by?
There was music, food, cakes and great people.
It all went way past bedtime...

Another week has passed
And this one was spent in Kristiansand. The program this week was quite nice!
Stravinsky's Pulcinella suite
Beethoven Violin Serenade (F major)
Mendelssohn "Scottish symphony"
And my home was Hotel Norge. Not as fancy hall as they have in Hotel Ernst, but the breakfast is great. Their bread is amazing - and now I've figured out how to get my soy milk too, so I can have my daily müsli.
The concert was, as usually, at Thursday - 19.30, in the Church. Since it was the season opening concert, there was expected to be quite a lot of people. Unfortunately, the weather was making some trouble, and there were several other concerts going on at the same time so the number of people in the audience was rather low. I had fun anyway!
-and afterwards we were invited for soup in one of the new restaurants in town.
Both Friday and today, I had rehearsals with a new ensemble: Ensemble Suo Nordico. We're going to have a concert in Kristiansand on the 7th of November. Very ambitious program with some new pieces by Swedish composers mixed with some more central works in the genre: Schönbergs: Pierrot Lunaire. I'm in for a real challenge!!
The group is a great mix of everything from older, more established players to young ones, still studying. They are all enthusiastic about the group, and very sweet people. I'm looking forward to know the pieces and play together with them. I'm sure it'll be both fun and good music!
While we have these rehearsals I'm living in Lars Auduns flat. He is not at home, so I feel a bit like a house occupant... haha
Location: Lars Auduns flat
Mood: Tired, lots of thoughts
Eating: Banana

Dessert
Back in Hotel Norge after a weekend of Händel in Lillesand with Lars Audun and some other players. Nata is here this week, and when she came to the hotel we went out for a little something. She and Siv, another sub., wanted some real food, but I went for the dessert!
Kick's brownie (actually, it was ordinary chocolate cake, not brownie) was yummie <3

Guess what!

At hotel Ernst, where Peder also lives this week, they have something quite interesting. Chewable omega 3 capsules. They tempt up with "fresh taste" and that they're in vegetable gelatin. Yeah, right. I'm sure it's some kind of tourist gimmic. When you try, you chew it and then you burp horrible codliveroil-taste for a week. Gotcha!

Hmmm....
Am I getting girly? Pink glasses, purple toe-nails and now I'm considering to buy a pink (or white) MSI U100.
Today was Nata's day. She had to cut her summer vacation in Poland short to get back here and find a new place to stay. Gosh, I don't envy her the job to find something now (with the competition from all the students...). Hopefully she'll get something really fast!!! And good.
After a walk in the city with her, I invited her home for dinner. We bought some "uer"

which we prepared in the oven. It was really good! (despite it's look...)
Ooo, I felt childish to play with it a bit when it was still uncooked. But it was so much fun! You know, having a muppetshow of my own.
And now, in search of a ultra light but good pc to carry around when I'm subbing (or going somewhere)
Location: Mums livingroom
Mood: tired!
Listening to: Mendelssohn octet
btw, the black version is out of stock...

Beach day

At 13 Liv picked me up in the centre. I'd bought some biscuits, licorice and strawberries and in my bag was both games, books and a frizbee. I was armed to my teeth for this beach trip. We went to one of the many beaches around here, and it was gorgeous! Didn't take any good pics of it, so here is my dinner... Thank you, freezer, for storing food for me!

Catching up with old friends
...has been this weeks theme, I guess.
Tuesday I met up with a girl from junior high school - Cathrine. We also went to high school together, and actually - it was there we got to know each other. Cathrine and I were always walking together in a trio with Brit Hege. For a while it seemed like it would be a trio reunion, because Brit H. is in town quite often now because of some course - but no. She was still in Stavanger, so we had a reunion minus one. It was incredibly nice!! Both kind of tired after work, but eating great indian food and having company with each other made it a great evening.
Then on Thursday Guro and I went out to grab a coffee - which ended up being her having dinner, Amanda and I share a bean cake (interesting aquaintance) and Tove (a swedish cellist) just joining company in a tiny Thai place. Later that day, Amanda and I headed towards "Parkteateret" to see a concert from Fever Ray which is a family friend of Amandas.
The whole day was kind of stressing because I had been at mums place to pick up my concert clothes, and of course I forgot something. Only this something was my phone. I had an appointment with Amanda that said "see you at the opera, the concert starts at 8" Yeah. Very spesific....
I ran around the opera to find her, borrowed Johannas (harp player) phone - no answer, sent a message - no answer, called mum - and heard Amanda had tried to call me. Of course - the number which is in the book from the opera has one wrong number. When I finally got hold of Amanda, it turns out she´s been running around the oprera after me too. Only pure luck we didn´t bump into each other....
There was more to come - We took the tram to Grünerløkka, lined up for the concert and standing there almost 15 min. before the doorman came out, shouting "NO possibility to get ANY tickets now" and ruining our dreams of a night out with great music. Needless to say, we took a glass of cheering-up grown-ups-soda ;)
Friday I had lined up for a coffee with Anna, who has been to India, France, around Norway and Sweden since I saw her last time. It was great to see her! We went to Stockfleths with great efforts because of a very inconvenient sort of bag/suit case. It flipped over as soon as we even thought there would be a bump on the pedestrial. Hooray!!!
After consuming our coffee and cakes, Atle came strolling in with a friend. Atle studied with me in Trondheim, and we have met accidently twice a year since then. It bacame a fun group of people!
Now I´m facing one of my most hasty weeks ever, so it´s time to pack my bag and head for the bus.
Kristiansand, here I come again!
Location: Dad´s computer room
Mood: ok
Eating: breakfast soon!
Drinking: ditto kaffe
Listening to: Ski jump competition on TV

Morning coffee and after-work-shopping
This morning I thought I'd be up at a decent time and have a slow morning before work at 11. But, 8.30 I got a nice message from Ingvild - she was in town (her son was not fully recovered from his eye-catarrh) and wanted to do something. We decided a morning coffee was a good idea. So - I jumped out of bed, ran around to get my things and cello, brushed my teeth and rushed out of the house just after the bus should have departed. (It is always late, but still - I was a wee bit lucky.)
We had a great hour or so at Stockfleths with coffee, sandwiches and water next to her sons caviar-slices. He got a bit wriggly after a while, the doors were very cool and the staircase too interesting. But when he hit his jaw on the table (fell down from his chair) he was very brave ineed!

Mother and child, just after the accident. No sad faces!
On our way out, we met another "Samfundet" voluntair - Andreas, who followed me to the bridge over to the Opera house.
After todays rehearsal of what the solo cellist described as "silly, silly ballett music", we went to the Opera Shop. Dad had told me they had a sale (50% off) on music and books - and bags! so this is what I ended up buying:

Location: home
Mood: ok, but hungry
Eating: I wish
Drinking: ---
Listening to: Sprint, cross country from Trondheim (radio)
